Create a complete site record
When coordinates are supplied and country or time zone is blank, the catalog can derive a default from local offline data. Review the result; a value you enter yourself is preserved.
- Enter a unique, recognizable site name.
- Pan the map or enter a valid latitude and longitude pair.
- Add known maximum depth, water type, site type, country, region, city, and time zone.
- Mark shore or boat access, add descriptions, hazards, and personal notes, then save.
Use sites from the dive form
Selecting a saved site fills the site snapshot and centers the form map. You can pan the crosshair map to a custom position, or type a one-time site name without creating a catalog entry.
A dive keeps the copied site name, country code, and coordinates. Editing, deactivating, or later deleting the catalog item does not retroactively change the historical dive.
Explore the all-sites map
Dive Sites Map displays owned sites with recorded dive count, deepest recorded dive, most recent date, favorite state, and water type. Filter by date range, country, water type, purpose, or dive mode.
Each plotted site uses a rounded badge marker with a snorkel-mask icon and the site name instead of a generic map pin. Select the badge to open its summary, go to the site catalog, or start Add Dive with that site. Use the map fullscreen control when more space is needed.
Deactivate or delete safely
Favorite status makes frequently used sites easier to recognize. Deactivate an item when it should no longer be offered for new entries; reactivate it later if needed.
Deleting an unused site removes it. If a dive still references it, the system deactivates it instead so the historical link and snapshot remain intact.
If something goes wrong
- If the marker is missing, enter both latitude and longitude and keep each value within its valid range.
- If country or time zone remains blank, the coordinates may not resolve in the local catalog; enter a verified value manually.
- If map filters show no markers, clear them and confirm the sites belong to the selected logbook.
