Record cylinders, team, equipment, and attachments

The lower entry cards capture the people, gas sources, equipment, supporting files, and imported profile that belong to one dive.

Add each cylinder and gas record

Add one row per cylinder and choose its role, such as single, back gas, left or right sidemount, stage, decompression, bailout, or other. You can link a saved cylinder or enter the dive-specific values directly.

Record gas name, oxygen and helium percentages, volume, working pressure, start pressure, end pressure, and notes. The Air preset sets 21 percent oxygen and zero helium as a convenience only.

  • Oxygen and helium must each be between 0 and 100 percent, and their sum cannot exceed 100 percent.
  • Nitrogen is calculated for display as the remainder; it is not stored as a separate value.
  • If end pressure is greater than start pressure, a Complete dive requires confirmation that a refill or cylinder change occurred.
  • Gas entries are records only and do not calculate MOD, END, decompression, or suitability.

Add team members and used equipment

Search Contacts for a buddy, team member, instructor, divemaster, guide, student, supervisor, boat captain, surface support, safety diver, or other participant. You may also type a name or quickly create a contact without leaving the form.

Search Equipment for each item used, add its role and notes, and mark it rented when applicable. Names, roles, and categories are copied into the dive so later catalog changes do not rewrite this entry.

After you select a saved contact or equipment item, choose its eye button—or its thumbnail when a photo is shown—to open the owner-only catalog details without leaving Add or Edit Dive. The contact dialog can show the current photo, default role, agency, certification number, email, and notes; equipment details can show the current photo, category, manufacturer, model, serial number, cylinder values, purchase and service dates, and notes.

View details is disabled for a freeform name because it is not linked to a catalog record. The dialogs are read-only; close them to continue editing the dive.

Attach photos, documents, and supported videos

Use the Attachments card to add permitted evidence or media. Selected image attachments also appear in the Photos card. Existing files can be downloaded or marked for deletion while editing.

Uploads are available only when the plan includes them. The original filename is shown to you, but downloads are ownership-checked and storage paths are never exposed.

Know what duplication copies

Duplicate creates a new draft from the selected dive and copies its cylinder, team, and equipment rows. Review the date, number, site, and every copied fact before saving the new entry.

Attachments and imported computer profiles are not copied because they belong to the specific source dive.

If something goes wrong

  • If a saved cylinder, contact, or equipment item is not found, confirm it is active and belongs to this logbook. If View details is disabled, select a catalog result instead of leaving the row as a freeform name.
  • If gas percentages are rejected, check each percentage and the combined oxygen-plus-helium total.
  • If an attachment is rejected, check the permitted type, file size, plan access, and whether the upload completed.
